Our story
Your hearing, our passion
We set up The Clevedon Hearing Clinic, within The Hearing Clinic Group, to give Clevedon and North Somerset hearing care that's independent and personal.
We're not a national chain and we're not tied to one manufacturer, so what we recommend is only ever about you. More than 4,000 patients have trusted us with their hearing so far. Most of them are neighbours, and we treat them that way.
Asa Richards, HAD, leads clinical care and is a member of the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (BSHAA). In 2019, Asa was selected for the Demant Stars Academy, recognising just 80 audiologists worldwide.

One family of independent clinics
We're one of two clinics in The Hearing Clinic Group, founded by our Clinical Director Asa Richards. Chepstow opened first, in 2022, followed by The Clevedon Hearing Clinic in 2023.
Both clinics share the same founder and the same clinical standards, which means unhurried appointments, honest advice and no ties to any hearing aid manufacturer. Together the clinics have supported over 4,000 patients across South Wales and the South West.

Who is Asa Richards?
Asa Richards is a qualified audiologist and the founder and Clinical Director of The Chepstow Hearing Clinic and The Clevedon Hearing Clinic.
How long has The Clevedon Hearing Clinic been open?
We opened in Chepstow in 2022, followed by The Clevedon Hearing Clinic in 2023, together supporting over 8,000 patients.
Is the clinic independent?
Yes. We're family-run and independent, part of The Hearing Clinic Group, with no ties to any single hearing aid manufacturer.
Are you registered and regulated?
Our audiologists are HCPC-registered and members of the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (BSHAA).
How do I choose between hearing aid brands?
We fit six manufacturers, so during your free hearing test we talk through which brand suits your hearing loss, lifestyle and budget rather than steering you towards one. There's no commission tied to any single brand.
What's the difference between an independent clinic and a chain?
A chain is usually owned by, or tied to, one hearing aid manufacturer, so the advice and stock are limited to that brand. We're independent and family-run, with no manufacturer ties, so the advice is based only on what suits you.
Do you offer payment plans for hearing aids?
Yes, we can discuss payment options during your consultation. Ask the team when you book, or when you come in for your free hearing test.
